NORMAN, OKLA. – (March 31, 2010) – Luxaire® combines energy efficiency and comfort in a new Climasure™ horizontal ducted, single-packaged electric cooling unit and heat pump. MicroChannel technology incorporates a lightweight, durable, all-aluminum condenser coil in every cooling unit to improve heat transfer and ensure maximum efficiency and durability. Packaged heat pumps rely on a large condensing coil surface to deliver similar efficiencies.
A high-pressure relief valve and temperature sensor operate simultaneously to provide internal protection for the compressor in every Climasure unit. Externally, a decorative wire form coil guard provides impact resistance, and the unit’s heavy duty cabinet of powder-painted, galvanized steel meets ASTM-B117 standards for 1,000 hours of salt spray rating, the highest in the industry.
All Climasure units provide an operating efficiency of 13 SEER and use environmentally friendly R-410A refrigerant. A factory-installed liquid line filter drier keeps the refrigerant system moisture free.
Available in 2- to 5-ton capacities, the larger 4- and 5-ton Climasure packaged cooling units and heat pumps operate with a constant torque (X-13) motor on the indoor supply fan, while 2- , 2.5- and 3-ton cooling units use three-speed permanent split capacitor fan motors.
A top discharge condenser fan creates an upward air flow that carries the normal operating noise up and away from the living area, ensuring the unit’s quiet operation. Additionally, the rigid top panel effectively isolates any motor sound, and an isolator-mounted compressor and the condenser coil’s rippled fins muffle normal fan motor and compressor operating sounds.
Designed for installation on the ground or on a roof, Climasure models include full-perimeter base rails with forklift access to make installation easy. The compact units fit between the wheel wells of a full-size pickup truck and include side supply and return duct connections that allow easy hook-up of ducts to match low crawl spaces, without requiring transition pieces. Easy power and control wiring connections and electric utility knockouts through the side of the unit further reduce installation time and costs.
A large, single panel that covers the electrical controls makes servicing Climasure packaged units easy. In addition, the blower compartment features a large panel which, when removed, allows the blower fan assembly to slide out for ease of maintenance and troubleshooting.
