NORMAN, OKLA. – (June 2, 2010) – Luxaire® brings efficiency to its line of Acclimate™ Series horizontal discharge air conditioners with a new 13 SEER unit. In addition to high efficiency, the unit offers quiet operation and a compact design that ensures easy installation in tight spaces and the ability to stack units.
State-of-the-art MicroChannel technology provides enhanced capacities (2.5 to 5 tons) and efficiencies – from 13.0 SEER/11.5 EER with a loose coil to 15.6 SEER/13.75 EER when coupled with a variable-speed indoor blower. The new air conditioner employs R-410A refrigerant and a scroll compressor that is internally protected against high pressure and temperature by the simultaneous operation of a high-pressure relief valve and temperature sensor.
Quiet operation (levels as low as 71 dBA) is made possible by the high-efficiency scroll compressor and swept wing fan design. Easy power and control wiring connections reduce installation time and costs.
The heavy-gage steel cabinet and tubular base support the air conditioner, while the protective and attractive finish makes the unit as much as 33 percent more durable than units with conventional powder-coat finishes. The unit includes permanently lubricated motor bearings for low maintenance and features easy service access and a secured service valve for easy evacuation and charging.
Part of a versatile air-conditioning system, the 13 SEER horizontal discharge condensing unit is designed to be custom-matched with one of Luxaire’s® complete line of evaporator sections. Matching air handlers allow for upflow, downflow, or horizontal applications. Electric kits are available, if required, as well as add-on coils for use with upflow, downflow or horizontal furnaces and air handlers.
